The city is renowned for its beautiful Art Nouveau architecture, but it is perhaps the combination of urban life and spectacular nature that makes Ålesund a special and attractive place to live and work. Here, you can walk from work in the city center and have the fjord, ocean, and mountains as your playground in your free time.

Green Garden

is Hotel 1904's own restaurant and espresso bar – a green oasis in the heart of the city.

Here we serve breakfast and lunch, as well as seasonal dishes throughout the day and evening. The menu is based on seasonal ingredients, often featuring local produce. 

Green Garden has an international, warm, and informal atmosphere. Local guests, hotel guests, families, friends, and colleagues meet here – and the kitchen is an important part of the experience.

As a chef with us, you will become an important part of the kitchen team and get to work with great ingredients, seasons, and varied food experiences – from lunch and dinner to events. You will be part of a small and dedicated team, and at the same time, you will have the opportunity to contribute to developing our food experiences.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience from a professional kitchen (or are they actually better straight out of school?)

• Is professionally skilled and proud of what you deliver

• Has a genuine interest in food, ingredients, and great flavors

• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys varied workdays

• Is positive, structured, and solution-oriented

• Likes to work both independently and as part of a team

• Focuses on quality, hygiene, and good routines

• A trade certificate as a chef is an advantage, but relevant experience can compensate.
